Who doesn’t love watermelon on a hot summer day?! I’ve been eating tons of watermelon lately and have been having fun mixing watermelon into different beverages. Watermelon is super hydrating and cooling and the lycopene found in watermelon can also protect our skin from the sun. This summer beverage is hands down my favorite so far! Here’s my hydrating and cooling organic watermelon refresher recipe:

Hydrating + Cooling Organic Watermelon Refresher Recipe

This recipe is super easy! You can also adapt your recipe to be as thick or thin as you’d like it. Fortunately, watermelon blends really well so its more of an icee consistency than a typical “smoothie”. Making it all that more refreshing! My perfect balance was:

2 Cups Organic Seedless Watermelon
1/2 Cup Organic Coconut Water
1/2 Cup Organic Aloe Vera Gel
2 Tablespoons Fresh Organic Mint
A Pinch of Sea Salt

All you have to do is take all of the ingredients, throw them into a blender and blend! It’s truly the easiest drink to make. You can also decide if you’d rather it be a little thicker – by throwing more watermelon into it. Or you can decide if you’d like it a little thinner – adding more aloe and coconut water. Not only is it so delicious but this hydrating and cooling organic watermelon refresher has so many health benefits! I find it to be the perfect beverage for the summer.


The ingredients I chose for this particular refresher were no coincidence! All of the ingredients, like watermelon itself, are naturally hydrating and cooling. Aloe Vera provides most of the amino acids humans require to maintain good health as well as heaps of enzymes, vitamins and anti-inflammatories making it a great addition to this refresher. Coconut water is great for hydrating and also has a cooling effect on the body, as well! Lastly, fresh mint is cooling and has heaps of health benefits – it also adds a great flavor to the refresher!
